I found the way to Jesus thru Drummer Boy
While working for Vought Aircraft Co, I was visiting a supplier in Tel Aviv, Israel last April (2007). One weekend we had the opportunity to have a personally guided tour of Jerusalem. It was a small group, just me and two co-workers with a Jewish guide. To say the experience was life changing is a vast understatement. Not being a "churchgoer", I've never been into religion and for the most part, my life has been good with no apparent need for a spiritual relationship. But that day in Jerusalem changed all that. I actually felt the lords spirit in me as I visited the stations of the cross on the Via Del Rosa as well as the courtyard where Jesus was disrobed and the crown of thorns applied. I actually felt tears welling up inside of me. The feeling was so overwhelming, I called my wife and shared the experience with her back in the states. Upon my return from the trip I purcahsed a bible and other books to help me understand what I was feeling. Later in the year, I retired from Vought and took a job here in St Charles with another Aerospace company where an associate told me about Drummer Boy. My wife and I attended the Dec 2007 Drummer Boy service and while it was incredibly moving, it was Pastor Ron's sermon that touched both my wife and I. I felt like I found home. My wife also had had feelings that something was missing in her life and she also was moved by the Drummer Boy experience and Pastor Ron's message. We've been attending Grace weekly ever since. We both joined Grace officially and got baptized as well and we are serving everywhere we can. I was asked to share this story and I'm glad to do it.

Thanks for sharing your story!
What an amazing and refreshing story yours is. It is a reminder of the way God is working behind the scenes to accomplish His purposes in our lives. The Lord will not spare any resources to bring us to Himself. After all; He didn't spare the greatest resource of them all: His Son Jesus Christ,

Wow, thanks for sharing that
Mark, let me tell you why I'm so glad you shared your story. For one thing, every Christian gets excited to hear about someone else accepting Christ. It's as simple as sharing in their joy because we've gotten to experience it ourselves. But I'm also glad you shared it because it's a specific example of how all the hard work and long hours that went into the Drummer Boy paid off by helping you and your wife. I'm sure a lot of the people who helped with Drummer Boy are going to be encouraged by your story, and perhaps more people will invite others to come to it this Christmas.
God bless you and your family.
A Journey to Jersusalem
Thank you for your comments. It was an incredible experience and one that I frequently think about and find comfort in. It also brings for me, a reality about God's word. Last weekend, Pastor Ron talked about the majesty and awesomeness of God and our difficulty in understanding just how all encompassing he is. When he sent Jesus to live as a sinless mortal among us, it was an opportunity to us to see God in terms we do or should better understand. The resurrection of Jesus gives us who believe in him hope and a plan to live more like him. That day in Jerusalem made me understand who Jesus is and opened my heart to the incredible wonder that our Lord has given us through his sacrifice. This is a continuing journey for me and I cannot begin to describe the change and peace that has happened to me since that day in Jersusalem. Thank you for your comments and blessing.
