God Allows freedom but maintains control!

Have you ever wondered why God allows things to happen whether good or
>bad?  Like why does God allow great things to happen to some people
>and really bad things happen to others?  Or why God allows a war so
>terrible whether it is a war within yourself or a war between people
>or countries?

>The answer lies at the cross! Let's break it down. God sent his son to
>earth to live among us and to show us the way. He raised the dead,
>cured the lame, and caused the blind to see and many more miracles.
>When it came time to die God gave the people the choice to choose to
>crucify Jesus or to crucify Barabbas (who was in prison for murder and
>for taking part in an insurrection in Jerusalem against the
>government). The people had a choice to make and those people could
>have choose to kill a known criminal but yet they chose to kill Jesus
>who has done nothing to break the law and they freed the known Killer.

>Can you imagine living in that day and thinking Jesus was the Son of
>God and yet you see him dying on the cross and thinking to yourself
>"if he truly is the son of God why doesn't he just save
>himself." I mean if I were there I would be devastated. It would
>have been the worst day of my life. I would have felt like a fool for
>following a man who can heal a leopard, cause the lame to walk, the
>blind to see and raise the dead, but yet he can't save himself, what
>kind of God is that?

>Those are the thoughts I most likely would have had if I were there
>the day Jesus was crucified. But I wasn't there and I know that the
>choice those people made that day God used and turned it into the most
>celebrated and worship event there is, because what those people
>didn't know that day when Christ was crucified was that 3 days later
>our God rose from the dead and he conquered all sin and all
>destruction.  That God loved us so much he sacrificed his son so that
>we could have life everlasting. "For God so loved the world he
>gave his only begotten that whosoever believe in him would not parish
>but have everlasting life." John 3:16. What the people thought
>that day was the worst thing to ever happen God made it to be the
>best. He can do that for you. He can take the most horrible situation
>and problem and turn it into something you will look back and say,
>"that was the best thing that could have happened to me."
>Our God is an awesome God who conquered the grave and he can conquer
>anything you want him to.

>My point is that God allows us the freedom to choose. We can choose to
>follow the world or we can choose to live our lives for him.  It is
>our choice. God will take our choices, and then mold them into his
>plan and he will maintain control over this world and one day he will
>conquer this world. My question today is where do you stand? If Jesus
>were to come back today would you be able to say, "Jesus, I am
>apart of your family." Or you have to look at Jesus and say,
>"I was told about you but I chose to go my own way and turn away
>from you."  Where do you stand?
